The frown on his lips deepened as he watched the girl work her way around the kitchen, her appearance and behavior making Charlie just a little worried. He would’ve brushed it off as just the symptoms from the hangover but when Harper ran to the skin to throw up, he quickly shot up out of his chair and ran to her aid, his fingers trailing comfortably along her lower back. “Are you okay, Harper? Do we need to go to the doctor?”
A good time to give up drinking was right, if her suspicions were confirmed and the last thing she wanted was Charlie around to hear the news if it was true. What if she chose not to keep the baby? What if it was just her overthinking things? Stress, ANYTHING but an actual fetus inside her would’ve been preferred. Wiping away the vomit, she turned on the sink and reached for her sponge, scrubbing furiously away at the mess in hopes to distract her mind despite Charlies’ presence now beside her. “ I’m fine, I’ll be fine. I don’t think going to the doctors will be necessary.” Harper insisted, sponge slipping from her fingers and falling to the ground causing the pregnancy test from earlier to peak up from under her sweater as she leaned over to pick it up.
